Lots on the Menu at this Year’s Green Living Show!

The Best in Sustainable Eats

The countdown is on for the 2020 Green Living Show, Canada’s largest consumer show dedicated to simple solutions for leading a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. The event features over 300 exhibitors, hosts a speaker series, insightful activations, and hands-on learning zones.

The Show touches on a wide array of eco-friendly topics including health and wellness, clean tech and innovation, sustainable fashion and clean beauty.

One of the more well-loved areas of the Show floor is the Food & Drink Pavilion, a section dedicated to showcasing a delicious menu of food and drink offerings that are sustainably or responsibly sourced from local or organic suppliers.

This year’s offerings are more diverse than ever and highlight 12 restaurants, breweries, distilleries and winemakers that are making conscious decisions with the planet in mind. Indian restaurant 6ixTriangles is back with its fan favourite vegetable samosas and mumbai cream masala while Rancho Relaxo will be serving up a selection of mouthwatering tacos. Beloved duo, Marie & Daniel Holloway from Urban Acorn are also back with their famous Black Bean ‘Accra’. New this year, Roll This Way will be onsite producing fresh sushi using sustainably sourced seafood, while Fennel Organic Eatery will be serving up the best in vegan comfort food. Also new this year, every vendor has one vegan item on their menu.

If you are looking for dessert, look no further than Wafel Huis, who have hot and fresh Belgian waffles on the menu. Match that with a cup of coffee made from 100% Kona beans sourced from Hawaii from Tropical Temptations for the perfect after-dinner pairing.

The team at the Green Living Show knows that you cannot talk about the climate crisis without discussing agriculture, which is why they have partnered with Regeneration Canada and Toronto-based restaurant, Richmond Station, to shine a light on regenerative agriculture and the vital role soil health plays in carbon sequestration and in the fight against climate change. Award-winning Chef Carl Heinrich will be onsite with a specially curated menu using only ingredients from local farms that are making an effort to regenerate their soil.

After you have picked your plate, it is time to pick your drink! The Green Living Show handpicks the best for their in-house beer garden. Yes, you heard that right, beer! Feeling thirsty? The Wheeled Brew will have a selection of local, organic beers on tap for you to try or check out the cocktail bar hosted by Kin Sip House of Spirits from Prince Edward County. Prefer wine? Try a selection of wines from Niagara-based Frogpond Farm Organic Winery

Lastly, enjoy your time in the Food & Drink Pavilion guilt-free! The Green Living Show is launching a new BYOP (bring your own plate) program. Bring your own cup, cutlery, plate or bowl and help reduce waste across the Show. Dishwashing facilities will be available to those who choose to participate in this initiative. With something for every palette, the Food & Drink Pavilion is not to be missed.

Shauna McConnell is the Programming Coordinator for the Green Living Show. The Green Living Show takes place from March 13th-15th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building Halls A & B.  For tickets and more details visit greenlivingshow.ca
