With fewer April showers than usual, your trees might be yearning for a nice long drink. Instead of letting the sprinkler do the job, spend some quality time with the people and trees you love.
Tree Tips
Change with the Seasons: From September to mid-October, trees still need water, but use the Bucket Method every other week instead of once a week in spring and summer. Your trees will thank you for preparing them for the harsh winter months!
Size Matters: Be mindful of the size of the tree and adjust the number of buckets or the number of times they are filled.
Mulch is Magic: Don’t forget to mulch your trees—this will keep moisture in the ground, conserve water and keep the moisture level in the ground consistent.
Think Native: When buying and planting new trees, remember that native species have adjusted to our climatic conditions and support our birds and butterflies!
