Six Fresh Summer Skincare Tips

We all love the golden glow summer gives our skin, but not so much the hot and bothered look of excess sun and humidity. Summer skin can be temperamental with excess oiliness from the hot humid days while appearing dull and dried out on windier days. Here are six holistic beauty tips to help you keep a cool, fresh face this summer.  

  1. Start with a cooling diet. Ditch the heavy, oily foods like red meat that gives you a sluggish feeling along with oily skin and clogged pores.  Instead, choose plant foods that include raw vegetables, grains and tropical fruits.  Summer is an ideal time for raw foods and salads as they cool the body and increase overall hydration levels.  

  2. Keep hydrated by consuming enough water for your body size, activity and diet. Optimal fluid intake keeps the body’s organs functioning efficiently, resulting in healthy skin and body.   

  3. Maintain a simple skincare regime that includes double cleansing, a serum and an SPF.
